Berlin Says Thank You—to everyone who stands up for others. On Saturday, November 29, 2025 , the “Berlin Says Thank You” Day of Action will take place for the tenth time . The Berlin Senate , the Berlin House of Representatives , and the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion are using this event to honor the volunteer efforts of Berliners. The event demonstrates that a vibrant democracy needs people who help shape it, lend a hand, and take on responsibility.

What is this event about?

“Berlin Says Thank You” is the citywide day of appreciation for volunteers . Whether it’s helping neighbors, volunteering with clubs, participating in environmental projects, serving on the fire department, or getting involved in culture or sports—about one-third of Berliners volunteer. Their efforts strengthen community spirit and make a decisive contribution to social cohesion.

On the event day, numerous cultural and recreational facilities will open their doors and offer a diverse program: free admission, special tours, discounts, and events —as a thank-you for the commitment of Berliners. In some cases, registration or proof of volunteer work is required.

The event is accompanied by a citywide advertising campaign and a central thank-you event for invited guests.
Many well-known institutions are participating again—including museums, theaters, swimming pools, art galleries, and zoos. Together, they demonstrate what holds Berlin together: the commitment of its citizens.

Starting November 3, 2025 , all participating offers will be published at www.berlin-sagt-danke.de .

Who is this for?

The event is aimed at everyone who volunteers —in clubs, initiatives, neighborhoods, aid organizations, or projects.
It is a day of recognition and social cohesion that highlights the diversity of volunteer work in Berlin.
