The Neukölln Civic Engagement Award recognizes projects in the district that serve the public good. The award is presented by the Neukölln District Office in collaboration with the Neukölln Engagement Center. For 2026, the award will be offered as a themed award. Residents of Neukölln will vote publicly to select the focus topic. Applications will then be accepted for projects active in that specific area.

The Neukölln Civic Engagement Award recognizes projects in Neukölln that serve the public good. In 2026, a special-theme award will be presented. The theme will be determined in advance through public participation. Projects focused on the common good—run by associations and initiatives active in Neukölln and dedicated to the selected theme—are eligible to apply.

The award raises awareness of volunteer efforts in the district and strengthens recognition of local projects. The public selection of the theme allows residents of Neukölln to help determine the focus of the award. The award has been presented since 2023. In 2026, a prize of 1,500 euros is planned. In addition, the jury may recognize other projects. The award ceremony will take place as part of the Engagement Gala.

Applications are accepted from July 15, 2026, through September 30, 2026.

You can find information on how to apply at: Neukölln Engagement Award at the NEZ
