About the Program
UN Refugee Aid supports projects that improve the situation of refugees. The focus is on initiatives in Germany and abroad that promote protection, counseling, and integration. These include, in particular, legal counseling, assistance with administrative procedures, and psychological and social support.
You can submit an application if you are a nonprofit organization and already have experience working with refugees. Private individuals are not eligible to apply.
Funding is provided on a co-financing basis: You must secure additional funding sources, and the UN Refugee Agency will cover only a portion of the project costs. Priority is given to projects serving particularly vulnerable groups, such as children, women, or people with disabilities.
Projects typically run for up to 12 months. There are fixed application deadlines throughout the year, and applications must be submitted digitally.
Timeframe : Application deadlines are June 8, 2026, and August 31, 2026
Grant amount : up to €30,000 per project or a maximum of 49% of total costs
Areas : Social services and welfare, democracy and participation, international solidarity
