Talking to One Another – Shaping the Future Together

The Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) funds projects that strengthen social cohesion and civic education in rural or economically disadvantaged areas. Funding is provided for, among other things, dialogue and engagement initiatives, joint activities, educational programs, participatory processes, local networks, and digital tools. Eligible applicants include local, regional, and supraregional organizations and initiatives with legal status that serve the public good, as well as municipalities. The requested funding must amount to at least €400,000. Funding is generally provided as partial financing; as a rule, the organization’s own funds or third-party funding should account for at least 10% of the total eligible expenses. Among other things, the following are not eligible for funding: programs primarily aimed at schools, projects with agitational goals, and measures that are already financed through other federal programs or institutional funding.
