The “Healthy Eating” Special Fund of the German Children’s Fund supports projects that teach children about healthy eating or provide them with healthy meals. For example, the fund supports cooking classes where children learn simple recipes using healthy foods. Parents can be involved to ensure that what the children learn is also put into practice at home. Programs such as children’s centers that provide children with healthy hot meals are also eligible for funding. Applications may be submitted by children and adolescents with the support of an adult, citizens’ initiatives, registered associations, operating foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Funding generally amounts to a maximum of €5,000. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. The project must not have begun at the time the application is submitted.
