Through the Megafonds, Terre des Hommes supports public-interest projects that focus on children’s rights and raise public awareness of violations of those rights. These include public and digital initiatives, protests, campaigns, public relations efforts, and events. Eligible expenses include, for example, printing costs, equipment for videos or podcasts, campaign materials, venue rentals, or exhibitions. The project must be planned and carried out by young people between the ages of 14 and 27. Adults may provide support, but the decisions rest with the young project leaders. Additionally, the project topic must directly affect them personally. Up to €1,000 can be requested per project.
