About the Program
The Lichtenberg Neighborhood Fund allocates €13,000 from the district budget to each neighborhood in the district for local projects. The Lichtenberg District Office in Berlin uses these funds to support ideas that improve the living environment, strengthen neighborhoods, or foster community cohesion. Residents, initiatives, and organizations can generally apply for up to €1,000 per project. A citizens’ jury in each neighborhood decides on the allocation of funds. Applications are evaluated, among other things, based on whether they engage residents, support volunteer efforts, strengthen neighborhood ties, or benefit the community.
