What's it about?
Through the FEIN program (Volunteer Engagement in Neighborhoods), the Spandau district supports projects in which people volunteer to improve their neighborhood. The goal is to enhance public facilities and spaces and to visibly strengthen community engagement.
Funding is intended for projects that have a concrete local impact and are actively implemented by volunteers. The focus is on practical measures that improve the immediate surroundings.

What is covered?
Funding is available for material costs associated with individual volunteer-led initiatives, such as:
- Renovation and beautification projects
- Planting and maintenance work
- Cleanup and tidying campaigns
The initiatives must benefit public facilities or spaces, such as schools, daycare centers, sports and green spaces, neighborhood and community centers, or public squares in the Spandau district.
Personnel costs or projects that have already begun are not eligible for funding.
Who can submit an application?
Applications may be submitted by nonprofit organizations, initiatives, or institutions that are implementing their project in the Spandau district. A prerequisite is that volunteers actively participate in carrying out the project.
The project must not have begun before the application is submitted.
