FEIN Neukölln: Materials for Volunteer Neighborhood Projects

About the Program

Through the “Volunteer Engagement in Neighborhoods” (FEIN) program, the Neukölln District Office supports volunteer projects led by residents, as well as public-interest initiatives and organizations, by covering the costs of in-kind contributions. For example, you can use the funding to cover the cost of landscaping tree pits, renovations to club rooms, or rental fees for market stalls at a neighborhood festival.

Important: Only volunteer work is eligible for funding; the project must take place outside of neighborhood management areas, and you can apply for a maximum of €3,500 gross. You need the organization’s approval for the project; for projects involving children and youth under 18, an extended criminal background check (no older than 6 months) is required. Certain expenses are excluded (see the “No-Go” list in the appendix below).

Submit your signed application by email by March 15, 2026; if funds are still available after that date, there may be a second deadline on May 31, 2026.
