Through the “Berliner Funkeln” grant program, the Youth and Family Foundation of the State of Berlin (jfsb) supports artistic and cultural projects that enable families with children to get creative together, experience culture, and spend time with one another. New, creative approaches to family-focused work are also eligible for funding.
The funding is intended for nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations in Berlin. These organizations submit the application for an initiative and assume responsibility for implementing and accounting for the project.
Projects that actively involve hard-to-reach families and create offerings that are free or low-cost whenever possible are particularly encouraged. Collaborations with family centers, local cultural practitioners, or cultural institutions are welcome.
Each year, the jfsb funds up to 10 initiatives, with a maximum of €5,000 per initiative. The projects can be implemented from March 2027 through June 2028.
