Pankow District Office
A strong and diverse culture of volunteering has developed in Pankow. Numerous children, young people and adults volunteer their time, creativity, experience and responsibility. In 2001, the Pankow district council of Berlin created the Pankow Volunteer Award to draw attention to and recognise the achievements of the many individuals. Children, young people and adults, initiatives or groups who work voluntarily, selflessly and without personal interest for the common good can be nominated for the Volunteer Award. Proposals must be justified in writing. A jury consisting of district councillors from all parliamentary groups decides on the awarding of the prize.
