The district of Neukölln awards the badge of honour once a year. It honours citizens who have rendered outstanding services to the district of Neukölln. This involves many years of voluntary work, for example in the cultural, social, socio-political, economic or sporting fields. Parliamentary groups in the district council can nominate candidates for the badge of honour.
