With the Lotte Lemke Commitment Award, the AWO honours volunteers
and their projects that promote social cohesion in a concrete way - e.g. through offers for children, against loneliness or for humane migration policies.
The prize is awarded to AWO volunteer initiatives, projects or campaigns that make a recognisable contribution to society and implement values such as solidarity in everyday life. The award makes these effective projects visible, shows how voluntary work addresses social issues and recognises people who are committed to helping others.
The award is presented at an AWO New Year's reception in Berlin.
