Lichtenberg District Office

Since 2017, women who are committed to the rights of women and girls, gender equality or human rights have been honoured in Lichtenberg with the district's women's prize. Proposals for award winners and projects can be submitted to the Equal Opportunities Officer with a brief justification. A jury chaired by the district mayor decides on the awarding of the prize. The jury consists of representatives of women's projects, the Lichtenberg Business Circle, universities, the community foundation, the district sports association, the senior citizens' representative body, the district committee for equality and inclusion and the equal opportunities officer. The prize is endowed with 500 euros, and since 2019 the winners have also received a sculpture.
