The prize honours young people who are particularly committed to helping others in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. It recognises activities that strengthen cooperation and improve coexistence in the district.

Young people, young adults and youth groups between the ages of 10 and 27 can be nominated. Their commitment should take place in or for the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. A place of residence in the district is not mandatory.

The award makes visible how young people take responsibility and are committed to their neighbourhood. It recognises commitment in various areas - for example in the social, cultural or sporting environment - and shows the contribution young people make to living together in the district.

The prize has been awarded since 2015. Nominations can be submitted online, by email or by post. A jury made up of members of the district office, the district council and the Children and Youth Participation Office decides on the award.
