The prize is awarded to initiatives or individuals outside the school who work voluntarily and socially for a better society. Members of the school community and their relatives are excluded.
The
BLUM Award strengthens commitment in civil society by publicising people and groups who are committed to helping others. Through a democratic vote, it promotes participation and encourages involvement.
The award is under the patronage of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. It takes place annually and combines democratic practice with recognition for voluntary commitment.
