The Berlin Nature Conservation Award honours people who have shown exceptional commitment and dedication to nature conservation in Berlin. Their commitment makes a significant contribution to making the city species-rich, green and worth living in. Every year, the state of Berlin awards the prize in the categories of person and institution .
The Berlin Nature Conservation Prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and is awarded to individuals, groups, companies or organisations whose work benefits nature conservation in Berlin. A lifetime achievement award is also possible.
Do you know people who should be honoured for their outstanding commitment to nature conservation and environmental protection? Or would you like to apply yourself? Nominations and applications can be submitted via the online form until 31 January 2026 . In spring, the Board of Trustees of the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin will decide on the award winners, who will be honoured at a gala ceremony in summer 2026.
Individuals or institutions are eligible for the award if their special achievements
- strengthen the protection of species or biotopes through concrete measures
- promote awareness and acceptance of nature conservation,
- communicate nature conservation issues in an understandable and accessible way to various target groups or
- implement innovative, exemplary nature conservation projects that inspire and encourage imitation.
