Senate Department for Labour, Social Affairs, Equality, Integration, Diversity and Anti-Discrimination

Every year, the Berlin Senate awards the "Berlin badge of honour for special social commitment" to citizens who have rendered outstanding services. The award ceremony takes place in autumn. According to the rules of the social administration, the badge of honour is awarded to people who have volunteered for at least ten years in associations, organisations and initiatives or in the care of people. All Berliners can nominate people. The nomination must include all personal details such as first and last name, date of birth, profession, contact details and a detailed justification. A selection committee chooses the 24 people who are honoured each year. You can submit your nominations directly using a form provided by the Senate Department for Integration, Labour and Social Affairs.
