The Senate's badge of honour (with certificate of honour) is awarded by the member of the Senate responsible for sport to persons who have rendered outstanding services to sport on a voluntary or full-time basis in a sports club or association or in some other way. The application must be submitted in writing with a detailed explanation of the merits. Applications can be submitted at any time. The processing time usually takes 9 to 12 months. Applications must be sent to the Landessportbund Berlin.
