The Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office supports voluntary work in the neighbourhoods with the 2026 district budget. Individuals, initiatives and non-profit organisations can apply for up to €1,500 per project for material costs. Funding is available, for example, for planting campaigns, raised beds, clean-up and beautification work, courtyard concerts, communal cooking or other neighbourly formats. The district will reimburse material costs that are directly related to the project. Fees, personnel costs, charges, services, commercial activities, ongoing association expenses, investments or projects that have already begun are not eligible for funding. All projects must be completed by the end of 2026.
