What is it about?
In 2026, the Partnerships for Democracy in Friedrichshain & Kreuzberg will award funding for projects that strengthen democratic engagement, participation and diversity. Funding is provided for activities aimed at combating racism, anti-Semitism, right-wing extremism and other forms of exclusion as well as supporting dialogue and civil society engagement on the ground.

What is supported?
Funding is available for micro-projects with a specific connection to the district, e.g:
- Workshops, events and round tables
- Neighbourhood activities
- Podcasts or publications
- Offers to raise awareness against discrimination

Measures to strengthen participation and empowerment
Projects must have at least one thematic focus such as awareness-raising, empowerment, promotion of democracy or neighbourhood dialogue.
Focus of content:
The projects should address at least one of the following objectives:
Objective 1: Raise awareness of the occurrence of racism and discrimination in everyday life
Objective 2: Realising empowerment projects and participation
Objective 3: Preventing anti-Semitism (embedded in the district's strategy against anti-Semitism)
Goal 4: Neighbourhood dialogues: shaping diversity and strengthening democratic discourse
Goal 5: Strengthening civic engagement
Who can submit an application?
Applications are eligible:
- Associations and initiatives
- Small organisations and sponsors
- Groups and individuals

Also young people, provided that the content of the project is also aimed at adults
Projects must be realised locally in the district in which the application is submitted (Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg).
