As part of the "Partnerships for Democracy" programme, the Democracy Office in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf supports projects that promote democracy and diversity and combat exclusion, hatred and misanthropy. The funding of up to €10,000 is awarded to civil society organisations in the district. The aim is to strengthen coexistence and set an example against all forms of discrimination. All project applicants must attend a mandatory counselling session with the Democracy Office before submitting an application. Applications without prior counselling will not be approved for funding.

Funding is provided for district projects and initiatives from civil society contexts that:

• Strengthen democratic participation and self-efficacy,
• promote diversity and empowerment of marginalised groups,
• implement activities against racism, anti-Semitism, right-wing extremism and other forms of group-based enmity,
• initiate local participation formats and encounter projects or
• develop conflict management skills.
  The specific measures are selected via the partnership's action and initiative fund.

Applications can only be submitted by non-profit organisations . Before submitting an application, a mandatory counselling interview must be held with the Democracy Office - applications without prior counselling will not be considered.
