Berlin says thank you - to all those who help others. On Saturday, 29 November 2025 , the "Berlin Says Thank You" day of action will take place for the tenth time . The Berlin Senate , the Berlin House of Representatives and the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion are honouring the voluntary commitment of Berliners. The day of action shows that a vibrant democracy needs people who help shape it, help others and take on responsibility.

"Berlin Says Thank You" is the city-wide day of thanks for volunteers . Whether helping neighbours, working in clubs, environmental projects, the fire brigade, culture or sport - around a third of Berliners are involved in voluntary work. Their commitment strengthens the community and makes a decisive contribution to social cohesion.

Numerous cultural and leisure facilities open their doors on the day of action and offer a varied programme: free admission, special tours, discounts and events - as a thank you for the commitment of Berliners. In some cases, registration or proof of commitment is required.

The day of action will be accompanied by a city-wide advertising campaign and a central thank-you event for invited guests.
Many well-known institutions are once again taking part - including museums, theatres, swimming pools, art galleries and zoos. Together, they show what holds Berlin together: the commitment of its citizens.

The day of action is aimed at all those who volunteer - in associations, initiatives, neighbourhoods, aid organisations or projects.
It is a day of recognition and social cohesion and highlights the diversity of volunteering in Berlin.
